Earlier we had reported that Huawei is planning to launch entry level Android phones in India. The phones are released in India and will be available with retailers very soon.Huawei has released two models U8500 and U8300
Huawei 8500
The 3G enabled phone is loaded with Android 2.1 OS and contains a 3.2 inch touch screen. The phone has Wi-Fi and Blutooth capabilities. The features includes push mail, Social networking tools integration; A-GPS; 3.2 mega pixel camera, video calling and users can download various applications from Android Market.The phone can support upto 16GB through Micro SD. Price of the phone is expected to be below Rs.15,000
Huawei 8300
This phone contains a QWERTY keyboard with a 2.6 inch TFT display.The phone is 3G enabled and has Wi-Fi and Blutooth capabilities.The phone contains a 3.2 mp camera with a Flash and also a front camera for video calling.The phone has GPS and comes loaded with Google Maps for navigation. The phone can support upto 16GB through Micro SD.The phone has a special feature which is inclusion of ambient light sensors which adjust the backlight of the screen according to the ambient light. Price of the phone is expected to be between Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000
The company will start shipping the devices through two authorized dealers namely Ingram Micro and Bright Telecom. The company aims to supply phones to between 20,000 and 30,000 retailers by the end of the year.
